Something simple with sizzix

23 October 2014

Creating keeps me sane. I love making layouts and having fun with paper. This week on the sizzix blog I showcased a layout which was very simple. I used one die, a die that came with the Big Shot. Here is a peek. To see more just hop over to the sizzix blog. HERE.

Vellum tickets at sizzix

16 October 2014

Hello scrapbooking friends. Just popping in to talk about my latest post over on the sizzix blog. This week has been one of those that you just want to forget. Tuesday one of my son's NoƩ lost balance while playing soccer on the school playground. He was running at a great speed and hit a small wall. His arm is fractured in two places and he had to undergo surgery. Those couple of hours were some of the worst ever. I have never felt so worried. He is home recovering but it will be a while before he'll be able to get back to his activities. He'll have a cast for at least 6 weeks and they'll have to remove the pins in 6 months. Soccer is a no-no for at least 9 months. We'll have to find activities to keep him busy. I thank the Lord he is doing well and the surgeon assured us it will not affect his growth.

I'm trying to scrapbook a little to keep my mind busy and to stop worrying. The layout I created for sizzix was made on Monday and I had 25 minutes to make it. I used lots of vellum ticket shapes which I cut out using the Framelits tickets set. You can see the whole layout HERE on the sizzix blog.

This makes me happy

12 October 2014

My boys drive me nuts sometimes but they always brighten my day. Sometimes I focus more on what isn't going well instead of enjoying the fun moments to the fullest. Every day I work hard on myself to embrace every moment and work through the more difficult parts of the day but in a more positive way. I love my little fellows. They teach me more about myself which is precious. I thank the Lord every day for giving me such precious gifts.

I created this layout with tags which were lying around for some time.

Stamping and buttons

4 October 2014

I ordered the new color theory stamping inks from Studio Calico and tested them on Friday. I really LOVE these colours. I used the September kits from Studio Calico as well as some buttons from my buttons collections. I love this picture of me and my boys. It was taken in April just after I returned from my solo trip to Paris. They were SO happy to see me.

Geometrical Designs with GLITZ

2 October 2014

I love using geometrical designs on my layouts and while I was browsing through Pinterest I came across this inspiration piece:
I spent quite some time trying to recreate the same design with my silhouette designer software. It isn't perfect but looks pretty similar. I cut out the shapes and puzzled them all together. I kept the negative cut for a later project. The layout came together really quickly and I kept it really simple as I wanted the design to stand out.

Sizzix Tuesday

1 October 2014

Every Tuesday I'll be posting a layout on the Sizzix blog. Yesterday I posted my first layout made especially for the sizzix blog. I really love using their dies and embossing folders and my Big Shot is probably one of my favourite tools. Here is a sneak of the layout I created. It has lots of dimension and layers which I LOVE. Hop on over to my blog post HERE to see the full layout.
